RelaySMTP Privacy Policy

Applicability

This privacy policy applies to your use of the SMTPRelay application and the website at getsmtprelay.com. It applies to information we collect about you. In this document, “we” or “us” refer to SMTPRelay, and “you” refers to you, the user or customer to whom this policy applies. This policy is effective July 5 2016. In order to offer our services to you, we must collect certain information about you. Because we respect your privacy, we have documented our policies regarding this information here, and we will not collect or use information about you except in the ways we describe. SMTPRelay is operated by SMTP Relay B.V., Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Information we collect directly from you.

  • Registration information. You need an getsmtprelay.com account before you can use our service. When you register for an account we collect information such as your email address, name, company name, password, your salesforce org-id and information to connect to third party mail servers.
  • Billing information. When you’re making a payment to getsmtprelay.com or entering payment information for your trial period, we collect billing details such as name, address and financial information.

Information that’s passively or indirectly collected

  • Temporary emails. We store a temporary copy of email you send through our service. As soon as the emails have been delivered, they are removed from our servers.
  • Log files. We collect log-files to analyze errors. These log files may contain email addresses of you and your recipients. We will never use, contact, sell or share any information about your recipients. These files may also contain IP addresses
  • Usage data. We collect non personally identifiable data such as your IP address.

How we use your data

  • To present our service to you and to enable us to send your emails on your behalf through your third party mail servers
  • To communicate with you (for example through account notifications, support and sales information requests, newsletters, marketing emails or announcements)
  • For billing and collection purposes.
  • To enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To potentially prevent spam or illegal activities
  • To comply with the law

We may use your data for troubleshooting. We may also use aggregated or depersonalized information to promote our services, such as by citing usage statistics.

Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties. When we need to provide your information to third parties, we will only share it to the extent reasonably necessary. We may release information when it’s release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others’ rights, property or safety. Our service acts a middle man between you and the mail service you provide. Any information that you provide these services independently is subject to their respective privacy policies and practices. Non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing or other uses.

Security and other information

We are committed to protecting the security of your information. We use a variety of industry-standard security technologies and procedures to help protect your information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Even though we have taken significant steps to protect your information, no company, including us, can fully eliminate security risks. You are responsible to keep your account information secure. We are not responsible for, and cannot control, the use by others of any information which you provide to them.

  • Our servers are scanned regularly for security purposes
  • Our services are hosted in the Netherlands
  • Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.
  • All sensitive information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
  • We use cookies and log files to track user information. This allows us to provide you access to the application.
  • We use intercom.io to get notified about new users on our management application.
  • All financial transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We may need to modify this policy to address new issues or changes to our policies. We will post changes here, so you should check this page regularly. If we make significant changes to this policy, we may notify you in other ways (for instance, by email or with a banner on the site). Any changes we make will take effect 30 days after the update date noted above. If you object to the changes, email us at [email protected] before the new effective date to delete your information from our records, and we will do so.  Your continued use of the services after the new effective date will constitute your acceptance of the changed Policy
